It is an online entrance exam by clearing which students will get admission in the various Bachelor and Master programs such as MBBS, MS, M.Phil, BA, B.Sc, M.Sc, MA and others.To appear in the examination, all the interested students have to fill the application form by entering personal, academic and others details. The university has released the MUOET application form on October 10, 2018. Those who have submitted the form successfully are only allowed to appear for the exam.But, before applying for the MUOET exam students need to know the following 5 important things:Fulfillment of the eligibility criteria Contents hide 1 Fulfillment of the eligibility criteria 2 Change in the applicati on process 3 Uploading of Photograph Signature 4 About the Application Fee 5 Submission of Application form Students should satisfy the eligibility criteria before start filling the details in the application form because if a student found ineligible then, his/ her candidature will be canceled. The university has defined the course-wise eligibility criteria. Many of the reasons why you should build your personal brand have been discussed on this blog, including global competition, online presence management, and the need to stand out. The global population, from India to Malaysia, has been buzzing about the topic, yet it has become less of a buzz word and more common speech. Our brands are going to be seen everywhere that people are searching, forcing us to manage and monitor them daily. 1. Generations are colliding online Facebook started out as a hang out place for college students, but now were seeing older generations adopt social networking. Social networking use among internet users ages 50 and older nearly doubledâ€"from 22% in April 2009 to 42% in May 20. This means that communication between age groups is occurring more and more each day, and your audience is changing rapidly. Entire families are interacting online and 70% of parents friend their kids. You have to be aware of your audience and the content youre publishing because if they dont match, it can have a negative effect on your personal brand. 2. You online reputation can make or break you Your brand is on the line, wherever your name and face is seen. Clients, managers and other professional stakeholders in your life have access to what you post publicly on the net. You can even lose your job over blog comments or attacks from people that already have a negative view on your reputation. For instance, Madhu Yarlagadda was hired by Skype as the new Chief Development Officer, and after a TechCrunch blog post, people came out of the woodwork to expose Madhu. Employers are reviewing your online personal brand (except Germany) Almost every website on the planet has a search engine component to it and employers are using them to find more information about you. Its getting to the point, where some countries (like Germany) are banning employers use of social networks as background checks. There are race and sex issues all the time, but as a culture, we wont change. The information you provide online is public, unless youve used privacy settings. 53% of hiring managers are using social networks to find out more about you, states CareerBuilder. Make sure your personal brand is consistent and up-to-date. 4. Perception (how we present ourselves) is king Its the little things that count, whether youre in an interview, or interacting with people online. A CareerBuilder survey states that 67% of hiring managers say that failure to make eye contact would make them less likely to hire a job candidate and 38% said lack of smile. People will judge you on small things that make a big difference. By being professional, using good eye contact, shaking someones hand, having good posture, and using appropriate images online, you will be more successful when communicating with others. 5. Stay relevant or stay unemployed You need to be relevant to be desirable in the marketplace. The U.S. Department of Education estimates that 60% of all new jobs in the twenty-first century will require skills that only 20% of current employees possess. You need a sense for what skills are important in your industry, and which ones might be significant in the future. By keeping yourself relevant, youre keeping yourself employed. For instance, if youre in the marketing world, you cant avoid online advertising, and mobile applications. 6. Job searching has been replaced by people searching If you apply for a job through a job board, you will be disappointed. In The New York Post, there was an article about one woman who applied for 1,056 jobs since being laid off, and only a handful of the 1,056 resumes she mailed out resulted in even an initial interview. Instead of wasting your precious time applying for jobs using job boards, that lead to nowhere, conduct a people search. Use the web to locate people who work at companies, and positions, that youre interested in and then network with them constantly. For some great networking advice, read this resource by Inc. Magazine. As you progress in your career, networking becomes more important because its almost 0% a hidden job market when youre an executive job seeker. Only 22% of positions paying $200,000 or more are being posted on job boards. Your best bet is to focus on building an enormous Rolodex throughout your career, giving value to them, and then asking for help when you need it. 7. You have to stand out, to get noticed, and uncover opportunities People are starting to go to extreme lengths to stand out in this crowded world. 64% of young women say that they would release a sex tape to get ahead. I wouldnt recommend this approach, of course, but there are a lot of things you can do to build your personal brand and get attention. For instance, creating a video resume of yourself and sending it to a hiring manager is one way to get through the noise. Also, having a blog that depicts your human voice is a great addition to a stale resume that employers dont trust anyways. 8. You have to specialize You need to be known for something and dont try to be everything to everyone. Being a generalist will help you adapt to new jobs because the market changes all the time, but specializing will make you more desirable to hiring managers. In fact, 71% of hiring managers are looking to fill specialized positions while 61% of job seekers considered themselves to have broad skill sets. Companies are looking to hire experts in their fields to solve real business problems. Become an expert in an in-demand field and you will have leverage over the recruitment process, make more money, and securing a stable position. 9. The competition is relentless The competition were facing online is getting tougher by the day. There are 75 million people on LinkedIn, 150 million blogs, 500 million people on Facebook, and 200 million people on Twitter. With the amount of noise/content available now, you have to work harder, faster, and smarter to get your name out there. People who have known brands in their industry will flourish because people already know, like and trust them. Everyone else has to put in the effort to build a brand that can compete. The economy has created a tough job market for most individuals, especially inexperienced college graduates. There are currently 2 million unemployed college graduates, and companies are hiring 22% fewer graduates. Our country is becoming more educated with about 40% of Americans having college degrees. Although, having a college degree isnt a requirement for success (ask Bill Gates), its extremely important for building a foundation for future success for most people. Non-entrepreneurs should obtain an MBA in order to attain management positions within companies. . Interpersonal skills are becoming more valuable A brand requires a personality if its going to be distinctive. Your personal brand needs to be personable and attract positive attention. Organizations are starting to place a higher value on interpersonal skills (communication, teamwork, organization) and cultural fit, instead of technical skills and experience. Technical skills and experience are easily replaceable in most fields, but its harder to replace people who fit perfectly in your organization and work well with your current employees. A new survey by Right Management shows that 31% of companies feel that organizational culture and motivation fit is important, while only 12% are for technical skills, and 11% are for relevant experience.

Coachology A new feature on Brazen Careerist Today is the first of a weekly event where someone gets free coaching. The coaches will be different each week, and they will address a variety of aspects of work and life. Im calling this feature Coachology because I think we all are going to learn a lot about the wide range of coaching that is available, and which types can help each of us the most. Im a big fan of coaching. I have learned something from every coach Ive had, and coaching has been a great way for me to get out of a rut, get up to speed on something faster, and know myself better. Also, its an important skill in life to learn to be coachable. You need to learn how to take advice, incorporate new input into your old plans, and make changes in yourself. Youll be a better person if you are coachable youll be more of the person you want to be. So the first coach is Debra Feldman of JobWhiz. The person who first told me about Debra said, She cold calls and gets you a great job. Fantastic, right? So I called her up, and not only interviewed her, but asked her to role play how she does a call so I could figure out if I thought I could do what she does. In fact, I probably could, if she trained me. Thats why I thought shed be good for Coachology. What Debra is great at is understanding the groundwork you have to lay in order to call someone and get the job. She knows which person to find, how you have to pitch yourself, what research you need to do before you call, and how to show that you bring significant, immediate value to an organization. I have recommended in many columns that people hire Debra. But her expertise is not inexpensive. So someone will be lucky to get to work with her a little for free. But listen, the people who will work well with Debra will already have great communication skills. This is not for underperformers. This is for if you are good at what you do, and you know what job you want, but youre not sure how to get it. So how do you get ninety minutes with Debra? Target the Company and Quit Chasing the Job [Updated] - Career Pivot Target the Company? Yes, you heard me correctly…target the company and quit chasing the job. This is the philosophy behind the Targeted Job Search. As a baby boomer, I was raised to be loyal to my employer. When the right opportunity came about, it would typically be offered to me. If I wanted to change jobs, I would go to the newspaper, trade publications and, later, job websites for job ads. The employer was in control and used various marketing tools to attract prospective job seekers. Well, the traditional job search is dead and may it rest in peace. Now companies source perspective employees, notice I did not say job seekers, via LinkedIn, Google and other social and career platforms. They no longer care that you are not looking for a job. If you want to play this game you need to be a good passive candidate or someone who is easily found. Gone are the days where you could apply for the job and hope to get an interview. Job Listings When you go to Monster.com, Indeed.com or any company website with positions listed, how many of those positions are real? What percentage of jobs are actually listed? You have to understand why companies post jobs: They are legally obligated. If the position is funded by your tax dollars then the position will be listed. This includes federal, state and local governments, higher education, NGOs, and K-12 education. It is the only path into the HR systems. I have seen multiple instances where a job was posted after a final candidate was selected. They posted it so that the candidate could formally apply and once that was completed they took the posting down. The company wants to collect resumes for the future. A number of large companies have the same jobs posted permanently. This is so they can collect resumes so that when they are ready to fill a position, they have a large database of candidates available. Many jobs simply do not get posted. Outside of government and higher education, it is difficult to determine but only 20-50% private sector positions actually get posted to find candidates. Listen to the most recent episode The higher the skill level of the position the less likely it will get posted. Quit chasing the job! Depending who you listen to but a large percentage of positions are filled through referrals. This is all about risk mitigation in the hiring process. The safest hire is an internal candidate. The next safest hire is an external candidate with an employee referral. Therefore, build a target list of companies that you want to work for and build a referral network. The Targeted Job Search I teach my clients to target the company they want to work for and then network their way in. When a position opens up or is created, you want either your contact to refer you to the hiring manager or have the hiring manager to think of you!You want them to already know who you are, your skills and values. There are 4 steps to the process: 1 â€" Build the Target List You need to build a target list of companies that can hire you. Who hires people like yourself in your geography? You may want to read the post â€"Finding People Who Look, Taste and Smell Like You. In a later post, I will write about how to build this list, but it can be as simple as asking your friends where they work and are they happy. 2 â€" Research Your Target List Once you have a list of 15-25 companies, investigate each company to see if you want to work there. You will do this by contacting employees who currently work there and former employees. Current employees can be referral sources and former employees can tell you why you left!! 3 â€" Connect on LinkedIn with Recruiters and other HR professionals In the world of recruiting, hiring recruiters and other HR professionals are the mesh that holds things together. They are usually connected to everyone in their company. When you are connected to an internal recruiter all of their connections become 2nd-degree connections for you. Also, recruiters move from company to company and carry their connections with them. Recruiters can be firewalls or roadblocks in your job search but being connected to them on LinkedIn is invaluable. 4 â€" Build Your Referral Network Reach out and connect with employees in your target companies. Specifically, reach out to employees in the functional area where you want to work. Connect with them on LinkedIn and then approach them to meet in person. Ask for AIRâ€"Advise, Insights, and Recommendations. The magic word is “advice”. When you ask for advice it is a compliment and people will rarely turn your down. In building your referral network, you will want to meet as many people who have either direct hiring responsibilities or are key influencers in the hiring process. Next Steps If you methodically target the company and not the job, you will have a steady stream of employment leads. This process never ends! Whether you get the job or are rejected you will continue through this process over and over again. Even once you have the job you will restart the process 6 months after your start date. If you do not get the job, you will use LinkedIn to find who did get the position and adjust accordingly. In today’s world, you need to always be working the process.
